Location of First aid boxes

  1. Windowsill outside Mrs Foster’s room ( Room 12)
  2. On wall platform outside Mrs Bayne’s room. (Room 17)
  3. Outside Miss Andrews’ room just past computer suite
  4. In P2/3 resource store opposite Mrs Gage’s room (Room 3)
  5. In P1 store beside Gents’ toilet

Mrs Hyndman’s room

  1. First aid box for use at break and lunch times
  2. Travelling first aid box e.g. school trips
  3. Mini first aid kit for short trips leaving school premises e.g. swimming pool, park visits

Location of Sharps Box

  • Mrs Foster’s room

Procedures for disposal of clinical waste

All first aid boxes contain gloves, which MUST be used
All first aid boxes contain disposable tie-bags for disposing of all first aid waste
These should be securely tied and placed in classroom bins
Waste from break or lunchtime incidents, dealt with in play room, should be disposed of in First Aid bin provided


Epi Pens

All teaching staff received training in the use of Epi Pens in August 2008.

Staff are informed regarding children who have been provided with Epi Pens.

These pens are kept by each child’s class teacher in a secure place.

In the event of a teacher being off the premises, the pen will be left with Mrs Hyndman (KS1) or Mrs Foster (KS2).
