In line with the requirements of the Revised Northern Ireland curriculum, children study History, Geography and Science through themes and topics which emphasize “Connected learning”. At Ballymena Primary we are concerned, however, to ensure that STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) receive due emphasis and consequently all topics are chosen with these themes in mind. Our “World Around Us” curriculum topics also focus particularly on developing children’s interests in their world through a questioning and research based approach.
