Curriculum Awards
Museum
in the Classroom
We gained this award in 2000 for our school museum which features a growing
collection of artefacts covering eras such as the Recent Past, Victorians,
Vikings and Ancient Rome.

International
School
For the promotion of the international dimension, Ballymena Primary has
achieved this award from The British Council. We have completed a three-year
Comenius partnership on an environmental theme with schools in Finland,
Poland, Germany and France. A second Comenius project entitled "Kidzone"
on a citizenship theme is currently being undertaken with partner schools
in Germany, Finland, Poland and Greece. To find out more about these projects
go to our Comenius
page or click on the external link www.neelb.org.uk/cass/languages/schools/zl00061l.htm
In addition, pupils have the opportunity to study both French and German
and the school has benefited from visiting German language assistants.
A growing number of children from different ethnic backgrounds attend
Ballymena Primary, which enriches the experience of all our pupils.

Our success in gaining this award is featured on the NEELB website.
